I started at Festival Promotions as the office receptionist and bookkeeper on a career path that included sales assistant and soon expanded to inside sales rep and eventually office manager. I guess I liked what I saw because, to quote a once-famous ad, “I bought the company.”

I am now the proud owner of a company in which I strongly believe (why else would I have bought it?). My experience with the company from the bottom up has given me valuable insight into the industry. As president of the company, my philosophy is to provide outstanding customer service and to develop strong relationships – we do that by making it fun to meet our clients’ marketing needs.

My other loves include the outdoors. I am an avid gardener and golfer, and I'm also an Ottawa Senators fan.

Born and raised in the Ottawa Valley, I came to Ottawa to take Marketing at the University of Ottawa and have been here ever since. I’m creative and love all things marketing, so being the head of marketing for a marketing company, and also a promotional consultant for clients is like heaven! In my spare time I enjoy golf, pretending to play guitar, my dogs, and travelling! I also have a philanthropic side, and any chance I can help make a ‘dent in the universe’ I do, whether it’s supporting local charities, or building homes in Central America.

After completing a BA in Economics and Business in 1986, where I helped run special events and concerts, I started Festival Promotions. I enjoy working on marketing projects with clients. There are always logo’d products to fit any marketing challenge. It’s great to be part of my client’s success time and time again. Hi, my name is Rick Dossett and I bring you over 15 years experience in Promotional Marketing. Born in New York City, I am a graduate of McGil University in Montreal and Algonquin College in Ottawa. After working as a technical writer and illustrator for a number of years, I started my own business in 1994 and have worked closely with Festival Promotions ever since.
